Early in my leadership, I thought that if I could just build the right system, read the right book, or follow the right model, everything would fall into place. I copied strategies, adopted language, and even mimicked leadership styles because they worked for someone else.
But what I didn’t realize was that I was building on someone else’s foundation. Eventually, mine started to crack. I was exhausted and frustrated, and I quietly asked, "Is this really the way forward?"
As a result, it wasn’t until I slowed down—and got honest—that I discovered something deeper.
Our Auxano Navigator, Jim Randall helped us uncover our unique identity and direction.
That journey reshaped everything. It taught me how to lead from my values, how to stop outsourcing my confidence, and how to help others do the same. The process also helped our church lead from our shared values and pursue our unique church vision clarity.
On account of this shared journey in our local context, the church I serve now as lead pastor gladly sends me. So now I walk with leaders, pastors, and high-capacity people like you who are tired of chasing what feels right and ready to build what is right.
